Episode 3: A Sword A Day Keeps the Monsters Away


Daphnes: The Shadow Sword. It defeats anyone with a pure evil heart.

Kerebly: Huh… Tell me more about it.

Daphnes: Well, I don't really all that much about it. I only know that it can defeat those with a heart of pure evil and that it's sealed away.

Kerebly: Hmm… that sword could possibly be useful. Thank you so much for telling us about it!

Daphnes:  Huh…Say, if you're going to go look for it… I'd like to come along too.

Kerebly: Why?

Daphnes: Because…my home was also destroyed by Lord Gendo.

Kerebly: Oh man… Sure, you can come with us.

Daphnes: Really?! Oh, thank you, Kerebly!

Kerebly: (smiles) No problem, Daphnes.

Daphnes D. Deede joined the team!

Kerebly: Alright, now to…uhm… Where do we go now?

Daphnes: Well, why not the castle?

Kerebly: Hmm… Alright! To the castle!

Kerebly, Wuff, and Daphnes quickly made their way through the forest. Out of nowhere, a giant spider attacked.

Kerebly: Waah! (barely dodges as the Giant Spider leaps at him.) What is that thing?

Daphnes: One of the many monsters we'll have to deal with here. Uh-oh, here it comes again.

The Giant Spider leaped at Kerebly, who immediately swung his sword at it. The spider was thrown into a tree, but immediately leaped again. This time, it leaped at Daphnes. Immediately, Daphnes jumped to the side and watched as the Spider struck another tree head first. It got back up and tried to attack Wuff, but Kerebly knocked it out of the way. Kerebly jumped back, and go this sword ready.

Kerebly ran at the spider and slashed at it, one of its legs being chopped off. The spider, somehow, screeched in pain. It turned and leaped at Kerebly. Kerebly ran at it and slid underneath, slicing at another leg to even it out. The spider fell to the ground with a thud, but it quickly turned around and attacked Kerebly once again. Kerebly just stood his ground this time, and swung his sword at the beast. Wuff and Daphnes quickly looked away, wincing as they heard the sword strike the strange creature. The giant spider fell to the ground with a thud, scrunching up into a small ball before dying.

Kerebly: Phew… that came out of nowhere. Anyone else notice how it was after mostly me?

Daphnes: It must have been created by Lord Gendo…

Kerebly: Probably, and I bet there are more.

Daphnes: Let's hurry. The sun is starting to set, and the creatures will just get worse as night comes.

Kerebly: (nods) Right.

The three quickly hurried, time definitely not on their side. Kerebly looked up to the sky. As the sun slowly began to set, the clouds darkened. Kerebly felt a drop of water land on his nose, followed by a downpour of rain.

Kerebly: That…was unusually fast.

Meanwhile, past the forest they were in and over the mountains ahead, there was a large and magnificent castle. Upon one of the balconies, there was a young looking woman leaning up against the railing. She had a blue bejeweled headband, earrings and pointed ears surrounded by long, flowing blonde curls, a dress of turquoise blue with a red jewel at the end of her corset, and dark blue designs at the bottom of her skirt. She seemed to have a worried expression upon her face as she looked towards the Aitaenun Mountains beyond.

Woman: Why is a strange man in armor, one whom I've never seen before, walking across my dreams? There is also a wolf that follows him, as well as a goblin cleric… Is this some sort of vision? He looks oddly familiar though, I see some Gales blood within him… Maybe he's some sort of distant cousin I don't know about? Oh, I just don't know…

???: Zeladanial, are you studying for your Magic Exam?

Zeladanial: (gulp) Y-yes, Liani!
